My college friends
Scott,
Paul and
Rob got married
much earlier than the rest of us. They've already had children,
are saving for home and have long-since become
productive
members of society. The rest of us focused on careers or just
were too immature to take the next step.
Cecilia's and my
suprise
wedding announcement though seemed to have set a lot of things into
motion.
Captain
Jay Fultz (front left) and his bride were married soon after our
announcement in August 2004. Rumor has it they had planned the wedding
before we told them, but I have my doubts.
Newly minted Rabbi,
Jon
Greenberg, followed the following summer with RBA founder,
Mark Shelley. And
then.. LOUISSTONE.COM whipping boy - Future Bartholomew County
Sanitation Commissioner,
C. Bob Moats
- took on the marriage tax penalty on New Year's Eve 2006. As an
aside, some people (Republicans) will tell you that there is no
marriage tax penalty with all the changes they made over the past
several years. They are lying to you or are ignorant. If you have any
Alternative Minimum Tax exposure, then you'll realize that the penalty
is alive and well.
More recently,
Joe
Batiller added a shiny new ball and chain in Greenwich,
Connecticut. They have bought a house in the D.C. suiburbs and willl no
doubt begin spitting out children any day now. And finally,
Paul
Vinkler (sad, but I don't have a picture) took his turn July 4th
weekend. They were kind enough to have the ceremony in a civilized area
intstead of the frontier area where Paul lives.
Of course, statistically speaking.
half of these
marraiges aren't supposed to make it. If that happens, we'll go out for
beers and talk about what a total b*tch she was and how we never
understood what he saw in her anyway. That's what friendship is all
about. That and
college sports.
