Ilha Fiscal
Of course, it wouldn't be
a Lou tourism adventure if things didn't go wrong from time to time. A
couple pages back you read about what happened at the Banco do Brasil.
Well... ON THE SAME DAY we went to take the boat tour of the Ilha Fiscal.
This is the place where they had the last Imperial Ball in Brazil before
the overthrow of the government. When we got to the ticket booth, the guy
told us that the tours aren't running today and to try back NEXT Thursday
(which was when I would be back in Chicago btw). So all I got is
this one picture,
from a distance. If you look right in the center of the picture you can
kinda see it.
Confeitaria Columbo
This is a fancy-schmancy
restaurant that we went to for lunch. I wore shorts. This is a gorgeous
place with an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. When you get the bill and it's
30R a head, don't be surprised.
