BRAZIL II: AGORA E LOUIS
CABO FRIO & NEIGHBORING TOURIST TRAPS

Just like on the first trip, my eyes were a constant problem with no allergy medicine doing the trick. This time, as an added wrinkle, I developed a weird rash and a gastrointestinal "issue" that is not proper to discuss in a family website such as this. All I will say is that what people didn't know, didn't hurt them.

We took the bus to Cabo Frio. Never again. Cecilia's sister Celia, and her husband Gerson joined us for fun in the sun and took us around to the neighboring towns whose names I can no longer remember (it has been a year!).

We wandered the streets of Cabo Frio (PIC 1     PIC2     PIC 3) on our first day and hit the beach (PIC 1    PIC2). When Celia & Gerson arrived, the road trip began.  We stopped in about 3 or 4 towns and checked out views of the ocean from every angle. We took some rather questionable routes and saw many historical treasures (PIC 1   PIC 2   PIC 3).  Cecilia's nephew, Matteus, was suprisingly energetic, considering all the wandering we did.

You may be asking about Baja do Pirai? Didn't you guys stop and see her parents? Yes, we were there too. But Baja is not exactly the tourist mecca that Rio de Janeiro is. Her parents took us on a day trip to a town whose name I can't remember (it has been a year!) and it was quite nice.  It featured some absolutely huge trees, fun paint colors and chickens as church ornamentation (it's a Portuguese thing).

As with the previous trip, Cecilia's family was just amazing and bent over backwards to make me feel comfortable and I thank them for making this an awesome trip. Like any vacation, it was too short and I'll have to back again soon -- perhaps for Carnival...
