Louis Stone's European Vacation

This day can basically be summed up as the day when all cameras refused to work indoors.  I tried to take pictures of things that looked very interesting inside Notre Dame Cathedral and L'Opera de Paris, but apparently I needed halogen lighting to accomplish that feat.  At Notre Dame, they don't miss a beat to make a buck either.  There are candles all over the place (10FF), sell guidebooks (25FF) and they charge an admission fee to see the relics area.

Behind Notre Dame Cathedral, is a little known memorial (le Memorial des Martyrs de la Deportation) commemorating the Holocaust. There are no signs marking its existence and it is surronded by bushes so as to hide France's shame for its role in turning people over to the Nazis during World War II.
