(Mt. Prospect, IL) - When it comes to television it is fair to say that if it ain't a sporting event, political show, Law & Order or a VH1 documentary I don't watch much T.V.  Recently I have found myself watching the NBC program "West Wing" for strictly intellectual reasons.

Now many of you are laughing hysterically at my intellectual comment, but I cannot be more serious.  For similar reasons I try to watch "Politically Incorrect",  I am fascinated at Hollywood's blatant attempt to push the liberal agenda and try to portray the White House in this program as how they believe the Clinton White House is by always keeping the high moral ground (anyone have a cigar). I learned a long time ago that Hollywood believes that good intentions is what makes them sleep good at night. Results don't get headlines or humanitarian awards.

However, tonight was different.  Tonights episode dealt with mandatory minimun sentences for drug offenders.  They did a good job in exposing the hypocrisy in the laws. Drugs minorities are caught with like Crack will often carry harsh stiff penalties, but drugs in the same category such as Cocaine which is found in more affluent white communities will carry less penalties, usually rehab, but rehab is rarely an option for crack abusers.

Tonights show even exposed the opinion held by a growing minority such as myself of legalization. That was killed on the show quickly. Nevertheless, I found myself in somewhat of an agreement with this Socialist promoting media plague.  However, It beame clear to me after the program that even though we had a similar agreement against minumun mandatory sentences, the reasoning was different.

I believe that Adults can do whatever they want in their own home as long as it does not interfere with anyone outside the dwelling.  Wanna spend the day taking bong hits, shooting opium and masturbating...go ahead.  No one has the right to tell you no or make it against the law. Have a moral problem, thats between a person and God when they die.  Remember, Man will not judge man only God will judge man.  The Christian Reicht has conveniently forgot that part because of their fear of homosexuality.  Back off my tangent!

"West Wing" in the interest of Hollywood and it's stars such as Martin Sheen and Rob Lowe used tonight's show to promote what is best for themselves. It's in the best interest of Hollywood types that they keep poping their pills, snorting coke and if they get caught, medium fine and 2 weeks of Rehab.  I believe Martin Sheen's children alone have committed more drug related offenses then all the inmates in Statesville combined.  Granted they did expose the racism in the current laws, but they exposed hypocrisy not because they worried about folks in the Hood.  They just want to make sure they can have their coke an eat it to without sharing a cell with folks in the hood.
