We were a part of it... NEW YORK
It was a trip so quick that if you blinked, you'd have missed it.
When you are dedicated to power tourism, you can accomplish a lot in
very little time. I've been to New York many times in my youth as
part of the annual Passover Pilgrimage and later for other occasions.
My father is a power tourist. Up at 6 AM and seeing the sites by
8. We made the most of every trip to New York, Chicago, St.
Louis, etc. I can say with complete confidence, that if it existed and
was worth seeing, then I probably saw it as a kid. So when this trip
came around, I was not expecting to be shocked or amazed. This was
Cecilia's trip and I served as a humble tour guide. I was kind to her
though. I didn't set her wake up call for 6 AM. She was allowed to
sleep
until 8. To compensate, I kept her walking the streets of New
York until 2 AM instead.
To be honest, there aren't a ton of pictures from this trip because
they were taken at her discretion and we only had 1.5 rolls of film at
our disposal. Sure, we could have paid $12 for a roll of film at the
Empire State Building, but we were cheap I guess.
Please make sure to note the color scheme I have chosen for this
trip. Anyone could have gone black and white with red accents and
splashed on the I Love NY logo, but I went with my heart. The New
York Knicks, as any intelligent person knows, are G-d's Team and these
are their colors.
We did a lot more than this travelogue suggests. But, if I'm ever going
to get this posted to the website, then some decisions have to be made.
We did see many more
attractions than are detailed here, but since there are no pictures,
I'll skip them. I will not regale
you with tales of shopping in Soho, or shopping on 5th Avenue or
shopping at H&M, etc. And I won't bother to go into detail about
the second shopping trip in Chinatown. So, below are links to
what I have chosen to highlight for you.
